Hi, I'm Melissa

Hello!

I am Melissa Burch and I’m excited to get to know you!

I am an ELA educator of almost two decades, resource creator, EDU blogger, and wife/momma.

While I love all things ELA, writing is my jam.  Nothing lights me up in the classroom the way writing with my students does!  It also consumes so much time. Planning ELA instruction, reading the assignments, providing feedback on writing, and the cycle begins again.  Over the years, I have learned to work less and still get results, and I love to inspire and connect with other ELA educators who are searching for the same balance in life.  This is my hope for you and I’m so happy you have joined me!

When I am not creating resources or connecting with other teachers, you can find me running/training for my next race!! Running is my quiet time.  When I am not running, I am snuggling with my family, spending time outside, and reading a good book.

I look forward to our journey together.  I know you can find the balance you need in your life!

I know what it’s like to walk out of school and not carry all the work home

But it wasn't always this way...

Hey, I’m Melissa!  You can think of me as your new teacher BFF (you can never have too many)!

I am an ELA educator of almost two decades and I love helping teachers ease the teacher load that comes with being an English teacher.

After spending too many years working hours before school started, past five o’clock every week night, and spending Saturdays at my desk I started to resent work and was exhausted. So, I decided to take action and when I decide to do something I go all in.

I started intentionally planning my time at school and making specific goals.  This sounds like a no-brainer, but we all need time with colleagues and it can be easy to waste time if it is not intentionally planned for.

I started showing up with enough time to feel good about my day and leaving when my duty day ended. Oh, and I stopped working during my weekends!

I know what it’s like to be in the teacher trenches and yearn for a way to balance all the things.

It is my genuine desire to provide tools, strategies, and resources that will help you bring balance in your life and give you back some free time to be inspired.
